Supplemental terms to our Terms of Service, incorporated by reference.
Definition of "Lifetime." The "Pro Lifetime" plan is a one-time purchase. "Lifetime" refers to your license to the EpicDraft application and its offline features, which does not expire. It is not a perpetual or indefinite guarantee of any hosted or server-dependent feature; hosted features are governed by the Cloud Service terms below.
What the Lifetime Plan includes permanently. Your purchase grants you a perpetual, non-transferable license to install and use the EpicDraft application and every offline Pro feature, and to access screenplays and other content stored locally on your own device(s), including offline, subject to these Terms. This local license does not expire. Peer-to-peer synchronization between your own devices — including the lightweight connection-establishment ("signaling") service we operate to help your devices find each other — also continues to work without an active Cloud Service subscription; we may replace that mechanism with an equivalent one over time.
"Cloud Service" defined. "Cloud Service" is our recurring subscription covering server-backed features, including but not limited to: cloud backup, storage, and synchronization of your documents; creating new team-collaboration invitations; and script-coverage submissions (collectively, the "Cloud Service"). Account and authentication services and remote delivery of software updates are provided independently of the Cloud Service subscription.
Included complimentary term. Every Pro Lifetime purchase includes a complimentary Cloud Service subscription for five (5) years from the date of purchase. For Pro Lifetime purchases made before these terms took effect, the complimentary term runs five (5) years from the effective date of these terms — a strictly longer guarantee than the previously published one.
Renewal after the complimentary term. After the complimentary term, you may renew the Cloud Service at the then-current price (currently $12 per year when purchased on our website, or $14.99 per year when purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play). Renewal is optional, auto-renews until canceled, and can be canceled at any time effective at the end of the paid period. We will give reasonable advance notice of price changes; a price change never affects the license granted by your Lifetime purchase.
What continues without an active Cloud Service subscription. Your perpetual license; all offline features; AI features; peer-to-peer synchronization between your own devices (as described above); and collaborating on files whose owner maintains their own cloud access — accepting invitations issued to you remains available (the inviter is the covered party).
What is suspended without an active Cloud Service subscription. Cloud backup, storage, and synchronization of your documents; creating new team-collaboration invitations; and script-coverage submissions. Content already stored on your devices is unaffected, and previously accepted collaborators retain their access.
Changes and discontinuation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any server-backed feature where reasonably necessary — including for security, legal, technical, or commercial reasons, or due to changes by a third-party provider. If we discontinue the Cloud Service during a period you have paid for (or during the complimentary term), we will provide advance notice and either a comparable replacement, a pro-rata refund of any paid, unused period, or a reasonable means to export your data.
Data portability. At all times, including after any Server-Dependent Service ends, we will provide a means to export your screenplays and content in a standard, usable format so that you retain access to your work.
No additional refund. Except as required by applicable law or our Returns Policy, the Lifetime Plan price is paid in full at purchase and no refund is owed on the basis that the Cloud Service requires renewal after the complimentary term, or that a server-backed feature is modified as described above.
Cloud Service refunds. If a paid Cloud Service period is refunded, the refund revokes only that paid Cloud Service period. It does not affect your Pro Lifetime license, which is perpetual, and it does not affect the complimentary Cloud Service term included with your purchase. A refund of the Pro Lifetime purchase itself is governed by our Returns Policy and by applicable law.
Future self-hosting (non-binding). We may in the future offer a self-hosted server option allowing you to run the Cloud Service's server components on your own infrastructure. This is a statement of intent only and does not form part of these Terms or of any purchase.
